Who we are and what this document covers
The Tonus app (the "App") is developed and published on the App Store by Yunimo OsOO ("we"). This document explains what data the App collects, why, who it is shared with, how long it is kept and how to delete it. By using the App you agree to the practices described here.
We collect only what the App's features need and what helps us improve it. We do not sell your data and do not use health data for advertising.
Data you enter yourself
- Parameters for choosing workouts: sex, date of birth, height, weight, target weight, goal, fitness level, where you train and how much time you have.
- Workout log: chosen programs, completed sets, weights and reps, notes on exercises.
- Food diary: meals and their contents, water, calorie target, weight entries.
- Answers given while setting up nutrition: daily activity, training frequency, desired pace, and whether you have a condition where a calorie deficit is not recommended. These answers only affect the target calculation and are not sent to analytics.
The App does not need or ask for your name, email address or phone number. If you email us, we use your address only to reply.
Where data is stored
Workout parameters and the workout log are stored on your device.
Nutrition data (body parameters, meals, targets, weight entries) is stored on our server under an anonymous account: a random identifier with no name or contact details, whose key is kept in the secure storage of your device. Data is sent to the server only after you start setting up nutrition. Until then everything stays on the phone.
Food photos
A photo of a plate or a label is needed only for recognition. The App downsizes the picture, strips metadata (including location) and sends it to our server, which passes it to the Google Gemini recognition model. The photo is not stored on our server or by Google. Under the terms of the paid API, Google does not use the data to train its models.
We keep only the recognition result (the list of foods and their nutrition) so that the same picture gives the same numbers. The picture itself stays on your device to be shown in the diary and is deleted after 180 days or when you delete your nutrition data.
Apple Health
With your permission the App reads workouts, weight and burned energy from Health to calculate your calorie target more accurately, and writes food and water back. Health data is not shared with third parties, not used for advertising and not sold. You can revoke the permission in iOS Settings at any time.
Analytics and third-party services
To understand how the App is used and to fix errors we rely on services from other companies. They receive technical data and anonymous usage statistics, without your name, photos or diary contents.
- Amplitude: usage events (screens opened, actions taken), sex, age, workout goal and level. Exact height, weight and name are not sent.
- Adapty: subscription and purchase processing, Apple customer identifier, sex, age, workout goal and level for showing the right subscription screen. Payment details are handled by Apple only.
- Firebase (Google): crash reports and basic stability statistics.
- Meta (Facebook SDK): the fact of installation and events for measuring ad campaigns. Tracking across apps works only with your permission through Apple's system prompt; declining changes nothing in the App.
- Google Gemini API: food recognition from photos and text, described above.
These companies' servers may be located outside your country. Each processes data under its own privacy policy.
Technical data
The nutrition server receives your device's network address and the App version. The address is kept in server logs for no longer than 14 days and is used to protect against abuse. The App may send notifications (for example, reminders to log a meal) if you allow them; meal reminders are scheduled on the device itself.
Why we process data
- Choosing a workout program and calculating a calorie target.
- Keeping the workout log and the food diary.
- Recognizing food from photos and text.
- Running the subscription and restoring purchases.
- Improving the App based on anonymous statistics, fixing errors.
- Protecting the server from abuse.
How long data is kept
- Data on the device: while the App is installed or until you delete it.
- Nutrition account on the server: until you delete your nutrition data in the App. Server backups are kept for 14 days.
- Food photos on the device: 180 days.
- Server logs: 14 days.
How to delete data
In the App: Profile, My Data, Delete Nutrition Data. The account and all records are removed from the server immediately; keys, photos and setup answers are wiped from the device. The workout log is deleted together with the App.
Any question about your data, a request for a copy or for deletion can be sent to info@unimo.kg. We reply within 30 days.
Children
The App is intended for people aged 16 and over. We do not knowingly collect data from children under that age. If you believe a child has given us data, write to us and we will delete it.
Security
The connection to the server is encrypted, accounts are anonymous, server data is accessible only to the service itself, and backups are encrypted. No storage method is completely secure, so we keep a minimum of data and delete it as soon as it is no longer needed.
Changes
We may update this policy. The new version is published on this page with the date at the top. We will additionally show significant changes in the App.
